Ever since I can remember my dad sang in the Christmas Choir. Over the last 6 or 7 years Cam and I had been going with him. Last year was the first year we sang without him. I got quite emotional this morning as we rehearsed these pieces. I miss my dad's beautiful singing voice. I miss sharing this with him.
Once in Royal David's City
And our eyes at last shall see Him,
Through His own redeeming love;
For that Child so dear and gentle
Is our Lord in heaven above,
And He leads His children on
To the place where He is gone.
Not in that poor lowly stable,
With the oxen standing by,
We shall see Him; but in heaven,
Set at God's right hand on high;
Where like stars His children crowned
All in white shall wait around.
And our eyes at last shall see Him,
Through His own redeeming love;
For that Child so dear and gentle
Is our Lord in heaven above,
And He leads His children on
To the place where He is gone.
Not in that poor lowly stable,
With the oxen standing by,
We shall see Him; but in heaven,
Set at God's right hand on high;
Where like stars His children crowned
All in white shall wait around.
Infant Holy, Infant Lowly
Christ the babe is Lord of all.
Christ the babe was born for you.
